Juggling CCA leadership responsibilities, involvement in sporting competitions and academics is not easy. When my first sub-pass grade (chemistry) surfaced for the first time, I knew I had to get help. Having engaged Mr Pang as my chemistry tutor from the mid-JC1 onwards, my grades for the subject have improved tremendously and maintained at A/B for all subsequent examinations. These notes are high-quality: they contain commonly-tested concepts and examiners' tricks over the decades. His book "Organic & Inorganic Chemistry - A comprehensive Summary" is a highly-sought after commodity in schools and is only one of the many books his students will receive gratis. Mr Pang provides quality teaching both during and outside lessons. He is always ready to answer questions from his students, right up to minutes before the examination begins, using whatsapp as a channel to do so. He is also a great friend and mentor, sincere in his interactions with his students. The A-level syllabus may be dry but his lessons are never dull. I am a proud student of his, having thoroughly enjoyed and benefitted from his classes. I strongly recommend his lessons.
Mr Pang's chemistry lessons are extremely helpful especially if you are someone who is weak in chemistry (like me). He is able to teach such that it is easy to understand despite the difficulty of the subject because of his incredibly extensive grasp of chemistry. In his lessons, you will find that many misconceptions are cleared and that you will be able to see the topics/questions in a different light, more clearly and easily. His notes are also extremely comprehensive and covers every single important detail you need to know without being long winded. It is very succinct and has exactly what you need to tackle H2 chemistry. Without Mr Pang, I definitely would not have achieved the grades I got for A levels today!!
I could not have done this without the help of Mr Pang. Mr Pang was an exemplary teacher. Lessons were systematic, clear and extremely comprehensive. The content was always delivered in an extremely logical, organised and comprehensible manner, one which was best for us to understand and remember. All this was possible due to Mr Pang’s profound knowledge of the subject, as well as years of invaluable experience in teaching, such that he knew exactly what information was needed and how exactly to inculcate the vital knowledge to us. Lessons were always interesting and interactive. Mr Pang encouraged us to raise whatever questions whenever we were in doubt, which not only aided our personal understanding of the subject, but also facilitated a conducive learning environment for all to learn together. Mr Pang took effort in ensuring that any notes given were summarised to be precise and comprehensive, greatly aiding our learning. He was kind-hearted and selfless, always patient in answering our questions and had no qualms in extending lessons if we needed more help. He was also people-centred and genuinely cared about the students’ welfare. I vividly remember an incident which took place when I was in J1. Back then, I was constantly distracted, lost and inattentive during classes. Mr Pang noticed and made the effort to talk to both me and my parents. It was a definitely a wake-up call. It took some time for my grades to improve but he was never once impatient and was always there to guide and help me along the way. I really owe this attainment to Mr Pang. Thank you.
I remembered the reason why i joined Mr Pang. At first, it was just because a friend asked me to go along with her and I decided to because i was completely lost during lectures. After the first lesson with Mr Pang, I understood whatever he was teaching us and he brought it across to us in a very seamless manner. However, the most important thing is that Mr Pang acts as a compliment to the existing lecturers in school. Not only do I gain from his lessons, but now ,I also gain from the lectures back in school. This gives me a huge advantage to now focus on other subjects while still scoring well in Chemistry. Academics aside, Mr Pang is an excellent mentor who goes the extra mile to help weaker students by giving extra lessons for the price of a Kopi O (haha). Mr Pang has been one of the most inspiring teachers I have ever had in my many years studying. His many years of teaching experience results in lessons which are structured to be as effective at delivering the key ideas as succinctly as possible. His teaching pedagogy is clearly a successful and effective one as his track record of producing quality grades speaks for itself. His dedication towards helping his students cannot be faulted as he regularly goes beyond what is simply necessary and puts in extra effort and resources to help his students with their queries. Aside from his personal teaching ability, his material pertaining to the subject is also extremely well selected and crafted so as to expose students to as many types of questions pertaining to the topic as possible which better prepares students to tackle the comparatively novel questions in both school and national exams. In addition to his lesson notes, his organic chemistry summary book has also been hugely useful in helping to ace the subject by providing an organized and easy to remember visual arrangement of facts which are important knowledge. Other than teaching content, Mr Pang also teaches exam skills such as how to select questions and the order in which to tackle the selected questions, something I found extremely useful in planning my time management for exams which gave me additional confidence in tackling the various exams. While serious during lessons, Mr Pang treats students as friends and is highly approachable and willing to give advice on matters outside of Chemistry. Once again, thank you Mr Pang for all your advice and help.
Chemistry used to be one of my weakest subjects in secondary school as I not only could not grasp the basics from the beginning, but also disliked it as I could not understand much of what was taught. However, joining Mr Pang's classes since the start of J1 has helped me immensely in strengthening my weak foundation in Chemistry. Mr Pang's lessons are always clear and well-paced, and most importantly, he explains important concepts well so that we truly understand each topic. Personally, I feel that school lectures and tutorials can sometimes be too fast-paced due to the lack of time and the many things that need to be covered, but Mr Pang is able to pick out what is most important for each topic, and goes through different types of practice questions that commonly appear so that we know how to tackle them. Without Mr Pang's help, I don't think I would have been able to cope with Chemistry at a JC level, and I am truly grateful to him for his help over these two years. Chemistry became one of my favourite and stronger subjects in JC, and I eventually scored an A for Chemistry at A levels. My grades were definitely not only due to my own effort - a large part of it was also the result of Mr Pang's continued guidance and good teaching. Mr Pang is a really dedicated teacher who goes the extra mile to help his students as he truly cares about them and their welfare. Mr Pang is one of the best teachers I've ever had. I started Mr pang's tuition right from the beginning of J1, and I'm really glad I did. From the start, he helped me build a strong foundation in chemistry, such that each topic was quickly understood, having that foundation to build up on. He is extremely clear in explaining concepts and answering our questions, and is very patient with us even when we ask him repeated questions.His tuition lessons are very structured, much better than school lessons in fact; they are very well planned such that he trains us in every aspect of the H2 chemistry syllabus. For example, each lesson would start with a review of the previous week's homework where he explains every question we need clarification in; then he would teach the new topic and go through questions that help us to fully understand it. When exams are nearing, he always plans a schedule of how to go about studying and practising questions, and ensures that we complete them as lesson time would be used to go through them. This not only enforces discipline in each of us, it also ensures that we never have to worry about last minute studying.His passion in teaching chemistry is very apparent, and he has inspired me to apply for chemistry in uni. Mr Pang is also a super caring and funny teacher; he's really one of the best teachers I've ever had, and I'm super grateful for his help in getting my A for chemistry.
Hello! If you're reading this, I assume that you're hesitating whether to join Mr Pang's chem tuition. Don't hesitate! I assure you that you won't regret it. I joined Mr Pang's class after my dismal chemistry grades in CT 2. It was an E but after just two months under him, with his continual guidance, endless patience and really useful tips and tricks, I got an A for prelims! Okay, its also a lot of hardwork involved too, but Mr Pang's method of intensive practice, constant reminders and he answering your every doubt was extremely helpful for me. For me, one thing I loved about Mr Pang's classes were that I could feel that he truly cared for each one of us. Whether as a person or as a student. And because of that he would go all out to ensure that we did well for chem and also felt confident enough to take the exam. He gave us so many practices that doing a paper started feeling comfortable for me. Even in the last moments,he was constantly by our side, encouraging us and giving us super helpful advice on strategies.
Being a student from the combined science stream in secondary school, I felt that I was at a disadvantage as compared to majority of my classmates who took pure sciences. Regardless of my A level result I would really like to thank Mr Pang for helping me to change my perspective of Chemistry. In secondary school I always tried to do my best for chemistry but for some strange reason could not do well in it. However after I joined Mr Pang's chem tuition, I could finally see my efforts being translated into results. More importantly I finally truly enjoyed learning chemistry and (like a nerd) I found a kick out of doing tough elucidation questions. This was a long way off the person who could hardly understand the difference between alkane and alkene in secondary school. Mr Pang is not only a great tutor, but a dedicated mentor as well. In the classroom, he is very thorough in his explanations, occasionally delving into areas outside what is taught in schools, but nonetheless, imparting useful information, which has proven to be invaluable in the A level exams. He also devises a well structured study plan, ensuring we all have constant practice. These study plans are very careful, taking into account school events and deadlines such as for project work. Mr Pang also makes an effort to get to know his students, allowing learning to be a two way experience, rather than a top down approach. In the lead up to major exams, he would hold open consultations on weekends, as well as acceding to our SMS-es with chemistry queries. One would be hard-pressed to find a more engaging and witty educator.
Mr Pang's a dedicated teacher and is passionate about helping weaker students. He prepares lessons very well and always point out the important points to note for each topic. It becomes much easier to memorize the topics with his help, and grasping the topics with proper understanding. Mr Pang is the best there is. The only thing better than the chem bible(of which he co-authored) is the chem god himself. His lessons are conscise, relevant and efficient; strategically covering important concepts and practical applications in exams. Ever since Secondary School, chemistry has been my worse subject and one which i have always struggled with. Since my J1 year, i have consistently been scoring poors grades despite the efforts i have put into chemistry. Lectures and tutorials were always confusing and at a pace too fast for me to understand. However after joining Mr Pang's classes during the first quarter of my J2 year, my grades have shown constant improvement due the method Mr Pang uses, which is effective and easy to absorb. With his numerous years of tutoring students, he is able to quickly pinpoint a student's weakness in the subject and work together to improve on it. Mr Pang is always available and eager to help students who in need of aid. He is a tutor who genuinely cares for his students' academic performance in general and not simply their chemistry results, as he often shares tips and advices on studying methods and on other subjects.
I was a student struggling with my grades in JC1 and i attained a grade of U for chemistry and I was the 0% percentile in the cohort. Once i enrolled in Mr Pang's chemistry classes, my interest in chemistry had rekindled. Mr Pang is not only a teacher, he is also a mentor, a hero, a savior and a friend. After 1.5 years of dismal chem grades with a top grade of E, Mr Pang has managed to salvage my grades in a phenomenal fashion. Without him, the grades I have gotten would be nothing but a distant dream and I would have been run over by the difficulties of chemistry, like that train in Inception. Not only does he impart to us the basic knowledge of concepts and provide his personal resources for reference, he blesses us with untold knowledge of common questions and frequently used concepts that are often not explicitly found in most school lecture notes, gained from countless years teaching the same syllabus. In fact, Mr Pang probably knows more about A level chemistry than Gordon Ramsay knows about cooking. After a few weeks in his class, questions start to seem familiar as vivid memories of his wise words from past lessons ring the bell of recollection in one’s mind and questions all begin to slowly fade away from the shroud of confusion and into enlightenment. Sometimes we are faced with a question so challenging and so seemingly impossible that even discussing with our friends or consulting our school lecturers would not only be useless to our pursuit of knowledge, but might instead serve to confuse ourselves even more. But fear not you will, for we will always have our hero Mr Pang to help us, by providing us with constant help available through texting. I have never seen any other teacher as dedicated as Mr Pang to the cause of helping students, replying the queries of students almost 24hours a day, and providing answers faster than Usain Bolt. Mr Pang will even take the first step in arranging 1 to 1 consults or to give you answers personally after class if he deems a student in need of more help. Truly the Batman of chemistry we need, but not the one we deserve.
I am really thankful for Mr Pang’s guidance throughout the A level preparation period. His clear explanations of complex Chemistry concepts have helped me to keep up with the lectures and tutorials in school, and thus made my Chemistry journey a much more enjoyable one. Besides enabling students to understand Chemistry concepts more easily, Mr Pang also made learning Chemistry interesting. He would often share light-hearted and engaging anecdotes to aid in our recollection of important concepts, and made effective use of physical models to help us visualise the structures of different molecules. I am very grateful to be under Mr. Pang’s tutelage. Throughout this entire 2-year journey, Mr. Pang was very patient and kind when teaching his students. Aside from being a committed teacher, he has also provided lots of moral support during the A levels, sending whatsapp messages to boost our morale and keep us calm and focused during the stressful November period. Additionally, he often highlights the common mistakes that students make during exams and continually emphasises them to ensure that we do not repeat those mistakes. When I first joined Mr Pang's class, it was before school had started. Hence, when JC began, I found myself being able to catch up and understand the curriculum, as Mr Pang explained thoroughly and ensured that we understood everything he went through. However, in the midst of JC I began to do badly for chemistry as I did not do his homework. However, his helpful notes, readily available practice questions, and his patience as he replied my questions until 12am helped me improve drastically from J1 to J2.Mr Pang is very well versed with the syllabuses , having much experience from many many many years of teaching, and would guide you in a way that you would definitely get your A!!!!!!!!! Mr Pang is definitely one of the best tutors I have ever had. I always jokingly tell my friends that one of the best decisions I've made in JC was to find the right tution teachers, and one of them is undoubtedly Mr Pang. He is extremely dedicated to teaching us, and would even respond to texts late at night asking him questions. However, he does not just spoon-feed students with answers. Often times, he would help me to arrive at the answer myself with prompts. With his wealth of experience as a teacher, students can easily trust his words and prepare for the exams with much greater ease. Taking the A levels was therefore much easier with Mr Pang's help, for he really prepared us extremely well for the paper. I had been struggling with Chemistry in JC1 and could not score above a D grade no matter what I did. With Mr Pang's help, I managed to improve to a B during the prelims and an A for the A levels. To students who find difficulty with Chemistry, Mr Pang is really the teacher who can help you secure a good grade for the final exam, provided you work hard alongside him too of course!
I joined Mr Pang's chemistry tuition in J2 after struggling for the entire J1, getting a S in promos. My chemistry concept and knowledge improved tremendously due to Mr Pangs precise and fun teaching. He's one of the most caring and hardworking tutors i have ever met, providing private consults with weaker students and even organising special lessons for our paper 4 practical. My progress was very slow so i only attained a mere E in block test 2. Mr pang invited my friend and I to meet him for private consultations every tuesday at a cafe. As a result i attained a C in prelims. With Mr Pang's help in the last stretch, providing us with key notes and summaries, I was able to attain an A for my chemistry in Alevels. With that I am very thankful for Mr pang for being such a great teacher and also a friend.
Mr Pang is a teacher who has been so crucial to my learning and appreciation of chemistry as a subject. I performed very poorly in Chemistry in JC1 scraping an S grade for promotional exams and also failed earlier tests in 2016, which made me lose interest in Chemistry that was once my favourite subject.However, through another friend’s reccommendation, I joined Mr Pang’s tuition and went through one-to-one sessions for the entire december which Mr Pang very kindly offered, and very quickly picked up the pace for Chemistry through his classes in early 2017. Under his patient and generous guidance, I regained my lost fascination in Chemistry and did consistently better in the subject in JC2, eventually scoring B for A Levels. I have no regrets enrolling for Mr Pang's classes. His notes and books summarised all the key chemistry concepts extremely well, and his occasional jokes in class never failed to make each lesson interesting and worth going for! Furthermore, he responds to questions through text extremely quickly, which really helped me (especially during those critical moments like hours before exams). Attending his tuition classes made studying for A-Level Chemistry much more bearable (and even quite enjoyable), and I am thankful that I managed to find such a dedicated and passionate teacher to guide me through my H2 Chemistry journey.

I joined Mr Pang’s tuition after CT2 in J1 when I obtained a D. I heard about him from my sister and was hesitant at first but I am so thankful that I attended his class. Mr Pang’s explanations were concise and clear, and he has an impeccable wealth of chemistry knowledge that few can match. He gave us many notes and practices, printing out other school papers and picking out certain noteworthy questions to do. He always goes the extra mile to ensure that all students can understand the concepts before moving on. He even organised full day practical workshops that were tailor-made for us, putting in so much effort just to ensure that all his students do well. I attended Mr Pang’s Chemistry tuition at the beginning of JC2 after acknowledging that I have not fully grasped the concepts of the chapters taught in JC1 which was making me lag behind in lectures and tutorials. Throughout the whole year of coming to his tuition, I have learnt so much more about this subject and the way he goes about teaching it has helped me understand it quickly, more so than if I were to depend on myself. When I first started attending Mr Pang’s lessons, I had a weak foundation in Chemistry and struggled with many of the core concepts. Mr Pang is an amazing chemistry tutor. I always thought studying chemistry would just be simply memorizing notes and doing homework. I never really believed how chemistry tuition can be effective until I tried a few of his lessons.I got an S for my block tests in JC2 so I quickly asked around for a good chemistry tutor to save my grades in the last lap. Mr Pang's lessons were extremely effective as he explains all the concepts behind every question we do and ties them nicely together. He also provides a wide variety of great questions to help enforce our concepts. With his guidance, I jumped to a B grade in Prelims and got my A in A levels. This drastic improvement would not have been possible without Mr Pang's help.

In the first year of junior college, Chemistry was a huge struggle for me. Although I had prior knowledge of Chemistry from secondary school, the jump in the syllabus was immense and I was faring poorly. I was barely scraping passes for all my Chemistry examinations and dreaded studying the subject. Under the tutelage of Mr Pang, however, I gradually began to enjoy Chemistry. He helped me greatly in understanding the J1 topics I missed out on and aided me in catching up with the J2 syllabus. Mr Pang made learning Chemistry much easier, from how he could neatly summarize complex content into bite-sized pieces of knowledge, allowing us to gain a much better insight of what we were learning. Although the class was rowdy at times, Mr Pang’s patience and humour was testament to how much he cared for us. His hard-work and dedication to teaching was inspiring to me, not merely from a student’s perspective but also in daily life. Studying for Chemistry slowly became more bearable, and sometimes even enjoyable. My first and last A in Chemistry was finally attained at the A Levels, and for this, thank you so much for everything you’ve done Mr Pang!

Over time, I also learnt to appreciate how he manages to cover key content in an efficient and effective manner. On that note, I have to give much credit to his handbooks, which parallel the concise manner in which he teaches; these three handbooks are really much more helpful and insightful than my school’s lecture notes and are hence core to my revision. Besides his effective teaching, I think what makes Mr Pang really stand out as a teacher is his genuine concern for his students and how he goes well beyond his jobscope. For example, instead of simply feeding me direct answers to my questions, which would definitely be easier for him, he takes the time to patiently guide me through the thought process required to solve challenging problems so that I will arrive at the correct answer myself and be able to replicate the thought process again in future. During the lead-up to the A Level exams, I really appreciated all the complimentary last-minute revision sessions where he spent the whole day revising key concepts with me before my Chemistry papers. Despite his immense workload, he always made it seem as if it was us - the students - who were having the harder time, and constantly encouraged us to keep pressing on; Mr Pang's selfless attitude in caring for his students is nothing less than admirable. On a personal level, Mr Pang has gone beyond academics and has taken an interest in the extracurricular activities I am involved in. When it came to personal problems, never once did he hesitate to share his life experiences and insights with me. When I was feeling dejected about my grades not meeting up to my expectations, Mr Pang continued to have faith in me and told me that he still believed in what I could achieve. As a student in a competitive sports CCA, I joined Mr Pang's class to make sure I did not fall too far behind in Chemistry. Those 2 hours a week were certainly worth every minute of the commitment, as even during the busiest times of the year I managed to keep pace with the rest of my peers. He made the learning of Chemistry both fun and efficient, such as by providing useful summaries and using humorous anecdotes to ensure that we remembered to avoid common mistakes during exams. Mr Pang's teaching style can be described in 2 words: concise & rigorous. His ability to more or less shrink the entire H2 syllabus into 2 handbooks should already be a testament to this fact. The many class exercises we received coupled with the straightforward yet humorous way he delivers lessons made Chemistry manageable and enjoyable, such that Chemistry became my favourite subject in JC although I never expected that to happen. Additionally, the immense amount of hard work Mr Pang puts into teaching cannot be understated - rarely do you meet a tutor who regularly provides extra lesson time and extra lessons ahead of exams to ensure their students are fully prepared. Many of my friends and I will unhesitatingly recommend Mr Pang to any lost JC chemistry students out there.
Mr Pang is exceptional at teaching chemistry. His vast knowledge and experience greatly aids in allowing his students to learn better and understand the concepts to a deeper level.
